The Alliance for Beverage Cartons and the Environment (ACE UK) has been shortlisted for two national recycling awards, which celebrate the outstanding achievements of businesses in the recycling and waste management industry.
The National Recycling Awards recognise innovation and pioneering leadership in the industry. ACE UK has been shortlisted for the Best Partnership Project category after opening the UK’s only dedicated beverage carton recycling facility in a joint initiative with paper and packaging manufacturer Sonoco Alcore.
ACE UK has also been shortlisted for the Recycling Business of the Year category in the letsrecycle.com Awards for Excellence, recognising it as an example of best practice in the recycling industry. The awards showcase innovation, dedication and success in recycling and sustainable waste management.
Richard Hands, Chief Executive of ACE UK, which represents carton manufacturers Tetra Pak, Elopak and SIG Combibloc, said: “It is an honour to be shortlisted for these awards which hold a great deal of prestige within the recycling industry.
“We are committed to spreading the message that cartons are a renewable, recyclable and low carbon packaging option, and working with local authorities to make it easier for consumers to recycle beverage cartons.”
